The land at North Honeymead Field adjoins North Field and is to the west of Chivrik Close, on the northern edge of Sturminster Newton.
The site is allocated for housing development in Policy 29 of the Sturminster Newton Neighbourhood
We are now preparing an outline planning application for new family homes and would like your views on the draft plans.
The proposal is for up to 114 new homes, mostly for families with a small number of low rise flats and up to 28 (25%) affordable homes for local people.
This application, if approved, will set the principles and key features of the development, such as the number of homes, the height of the buildings, the location of the open space and strategic green areas and vehicular access to the site.
All the other details, such as what the houses will look like, their exact position and size will be conditioned to be agreed later at the next more detailed stage with the housebuilder.
To give an idea of how the site could be developed we have designed a draft illustrative masterplan, which is shown here.
We have developed this draft masterplan having considered many different national and local policies and standards, as well as having done assessments and surveys in and around the site to see if there are any issues such as transport, landscape or ecology issues.
We have also had preliminary discussions with North Dorset officers and presented to Sturminster Newton Town Council.
